I've decided to post a Frequently Asked Questions topic so that anyone who might frequently ask these questions will not do so.

Q. WHY DID YOU START THIS BOARD?

A. Because I used to run a board many years ago called Starscape, and I enjoyed it so much. I knew I could post whatever I wanted there and no one could just slap me down and tell me I wasn't allowed to say something because they didn't like it. Whether this board ever has anyone beyond myself isn't the primary focus, though I would love to have others who want to come here and chat.

Q. WHAT ARE YOUR POLITICAL LEANINGS?

A. I am a socialist, which means I'm going to be talking a lot about the quality of life for everyone, the liberation of oppressed people, the rights of workers to be fairly compensated for their labor, human and civil rights. If you don't like that, well, you don't have to stay.

Q. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO HOST YOUR OWN BOARD INSTEAD OF USE A FREE BOARD?

A. I wanted complete and total freedom to speak. Now, even though I host my own board, I don't have true 100% free speech to just say what I want, but it's as close as you can get in the United States right now.

Q. WILL YOU HAVE MORE FEATURES THAN WHAT YOU HAVE NOW?

A. I will always try to update and upgrade things as I go, but I want to start out with the basics so I can avoid what isn't really necessary. That means we may not have the newest and greatest features on this board, but I figure if you can post and share and laugh or debate, then there is more than enough to get the job done. We're not here to compete, we're just here to chat.

Q. WHAT DOES THE BOARD NAME MEAN? THERE'S NO EVIDENCE VEGA EVEN HAS PLANETS!

A. True, and that's the point of the title. The Moons of Vega may or may not exist, it is our curiosity, our drive to know, the very power that fuels our imaginations that bring the possibility to life. This is a place for what might be, a destination to strive for and one day reach if possible. To believe without knowing, but to keep striving to know.

Q. CAN I BE A MODERATOR?

A. If you want to apply for a moderator position, you just contact me when I ask for moderator volunteers. I don't want this board to succumb to needing a bunch of mods to keep people in line. Just one or two should be enough, honestly.

Q. WON'T YOU BE BIASED TOWARDS PEOPLE WHO DON'T THINK LIKE YOU DO?

A. I am biased. You're biased. We're all biased. There is no such thing as an unbiased opinion, in my unbiased opinion. I will do my damnedest to be fair, but I won't lawyerball, and I won't pretend to be a neutral third party. This is my board, I want people to feel safe and welcome here as long as they don't intend to cause trouble to others. Otherwise, I'll toss them. Is that fair? I hope so. So conservatives, liberals, socialists, communists, anarchists, libertarians, and so on, you're all welcome here as long as it's understood you can't make oppressed people your punching bag. Oh, but no Nazis. If you're a Nazi, I already hate you. Fuck off.

IMAGES AND FILE ATTACHMENTS

Once you're a registered user, you can upload image attachments. They can be almost any image format, but they can't be any larger than 1 MB in file size. This is to preserve server space. If you want to post an image of something larger, then you will need to use an image host. I have two favorites:

PostImages: https://postimages.org

They're free, and their file limits are much larger.

Oh, and there's an option I hope you use when you upload to add a description of the image. Do this for our posters who have disabilities or use screen readers.
